Step one is to get the current version from and follow the installation instructions. I only played Skyrim once a few months back for a few weeks, and ever since Steam destroyed my installation, I could not, for the life of me, complete an other STEP modding - it's gdamn impossible - and, at this point, it's seriously frustrating enough to make me wanna trash bin Skyrim on the whole. Answer: Step zero is to make sure that you’re running Skyrim Special Edition (as opposed to Legendary Edition or VR or whatever).

I've even set up Skyrim unplugged ( Skyrim Unplugged at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim mods and community) before anything else, to avoid Steam updating on me again during modding. SKSE 1.6.16 rel 44 is the latest I have and it works if you have an earlier version just update from silverlock and it will automaticly load into steam/game. I can't even begin to explain why this issue even came up.has anyone ever had this happen or maybe has an idea what could have happened. I've tried some suggested solutions, like deleting skyboost and/or script dragon files as a last resort.nothing works.The correct version of SKSE just pops errors every time. I'm not a stranger to following instructions, and this issue is just screaming stupid in my face - having fine combed every action from start to finish, I can't find anything wrong - this just shouldn't be happening at all. SKSE will support the latest version of Skyrim available on Steam, and only this version (currently 1.9.32 with any other numbers following). Now, had I installed an outdated version of SKSE, this would be self explanatory, but it says black and white that the version I downloaded should be compatible. did you get up and running after reading your post a little more closely your running a version from before current version im using is 1.640.0 and with the patcher im running 1.353.0 and SKSE 2.1.5.

I have 70 mods in NMM/workshop but only have 56 active. The files for SKSE64 are located at Look for the line labeled Current SE build 2.0.17, and click on the underlined link 7z archive to begin the download.
I also use TES5Edit and WYRE Bash in conjunction with BOSS to clean and sort mods and use NMM to load, dective/remove mods and for update of newer versions of mods.

This is how I do my mods when it happens and have no problem finding the cause, when you do just delete it.(Mind you there could be more than one mod doing it) But this method does work just time and patient are required. This new save will give a fresh start without all mods then add them a couple of times and check game from THAT SAVE, if it runs, save over it and repeat. Go to save where crash did not occur then try game, if works save again(Note game will tell you some items are missing). Hi morning here, how many mod?
